When I go out to eat, I often indulge even if just a little. I know I should eat healthier most times, but I often save that for eating at home. I was out to lunch with a former work colleague after not seeing him for over a year, and I suggested Super Linda in TriBeCa for a quick lunch.
My choice for that day's lunch was the tuna burger.
Tuna Burger cooked medium, with pineapple, pickled onion and chipotle aioli with cole slaw on the side
While the burger could have been seasoned a little more, pineapple will make almost anything taste better. I loved that I got a much needed infusion of vegetables from the cole slaw. There was a little too much dressing, but I was happy to have cabbage, carrots, fennel and other crispy veggies to munch on.
I felt pretty good that this time I'd made the right (read: healthy) choice.
Do you indulge when you eat out, or are you good about eating healthy all of the time?

I'm in the indulge group! But sometimes I choose slightly healthier items, e.g., fish over red meat entree. But for fine dining, I sometimes wonder how much healthier a fish dish ends up once you add in sauces (butter?), sides, etc.
I hardly ever eat healthy when we go out — but in south Texas, going out usually means either Mexican food or barbecue, and I don't know how to make either of those healthy. ;)
But really, I try to make healthful food at home all week, so eating out is one of those get-whatever-you-feel-like things.
When I go out, I definitely indulge. My problem in the past has been eating out too frequently :). I'm doing better about preparing most of my meals at home, and I always prepare them healthier, so that I can indulge without feeling gluttonous when I do go out.
@Erin - I know. There is so much hidden butter. That's why the food tastes so good. Even the salads can be a little riducluous. At least at home, we can control how things are seasoned.
@Allie - I need to go to Texas. I am sure the Mexican and BBQ are awesome!
@Daphne - I am all about the indulge part. I think I can really be healthy at home, but I enjoy eating out too much fun to be disciplined.
